Gerbera daisies is a beautiful flower native to the Transvaal in southern Africa. Gerbera likes a warm, airy, sunny environment. The flowers are rich in colors, such as red, white, yellow, orange, purple, etc. Gerbera daisies are large and colorful, and can be used for weddings, potted plants and garden decoration.

Gerbera and sunflowers look very similar, what's the difference between the two? How can we tell the difference?

• Different flowering times

Gerbera flowers bloom from November to April of the following year, and the flowers last for about 6 months.

The blooming time of sunflower flowers is from June to September, the sustainable time is about 4 months, and the fruit time is from August to November.

• Different leaves

Gerbera's leaves are oval in shape in the growing season, and the leaves can grow up to 10-14 cm with a radius of 2.5-3 cm.

Sunflowers enter the growth phase and the leaves are cylindrical in shape, and the longest can grow to 1-2.5 cm with a radius of 1-1.5 cm.

• How to grow and care for gerbera daisies

Gerbera daisies thrive best under full sun but do not like intense heat. If you live in a climate that experiences particularly hot summers (or afternoons, for that matter), try to plant your gerbera daisies somewhere that boasts afternoon shade.

Gerbera requires a lot of water during growth. It must be watered frequently to meet the plant's needs, and not too much water.

In summer, the water evaporates quickly, and more watering is required. Water and fertilize every 3-4 days.

Reduce watering in winter to keep the soil slightly dry. Water once a month or so.
