From Beijing:

From Chengdu:
By Air: Flights to Lhasa take about 2.5 hours and cost around ¥1500-2500.
By Bus: The overland journey takes 2-3 days and costs about ¥1000, including accommodation.
Note: All foreign visitors to Tibet require a special permit in addition to a Chinese visa. These must be arranged through a registered travel agency.
